Establishment & Vision
Halal Rizq Certification International was founded with a clear and singular purpose: to provide Muslim consumers and ethical businesses with a trustworthy, independent Halal certification body. Recognising the gap in the market for a rigorous, Shariah-grounded certification service, our founders — scholars, food scientists, and industry veterans — came together to build an organisation rooted in integrity.
Building the Framework
In its formative years, HRCI invested heavily in developing its internal Halal compliance framework, recruiting qualified Halal auditors with expertise spanning Islamic jurisprudence, food technology, and supply chain management. Our founding team established partnerships with Islamic scholars and Shariah advisors to ensure every decision was grounded in authentic religious guidance.
Serving Diverse Industries Programs
As awareness of Halal certification grew, so did the range of businesses seeking our services. HRCI expanded its certification scope beyond food and beverages to encompass cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, animal feed, packaging materials, and the hospitality sector. Adopting the Global Standard
A defining milestone in HRCI's history was the formal alignment of all our certification processes with OIC/SMIIC-1 — the General Requirements for Halal Food issued by SMIIC under the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. This alignment gave our clients the assurance of a certification recognised across all 57 OIC member states, significantly expanding their access to global Halal markets.
Going Global
HRCI established its presence across key Halal markets, building relationships with importers, regulatory bodies, trade associations, and certification networks across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Our certificate verification system was launched to give consumers and trading partners instant, real-time confirmation of a product's certified Halal status.
